We do not mention a specific blessing to give thanks for in this supplication, instead we mention blessings in their broadest form | This is for a number of reasons, including:• The blessings we receive from Allah every morning and evening are too many and large for us to count, yet saying this simple supplication will allow us to fulfil the gratitude that is due upon us for that morning and evening |
---|---|
Since we received the blessings from Him alone, we ensure we praise Him alone, and we thank Him alone Action Points• Other people may not show gratitude to Allah for the blessings they receive, which is something that should upset us, so we try and make up for this by showing gratitude to Allah for it ourselves, even though we may have not benefited from the blessing in any way• To be recited once Brief Commentary• Ensure you always try to ponder over the many blessings you receive from Allah whenever you make this supplication, and throughout your whole day• This ensures our speech encompasses all of the blessings we have received from Allah, whether the blessing is related to this life or the hereafter, and whether it is a blessing we have acknowledged, or one we are ignorant of• Some of us are weak and only acknowledge the good that others receive whilst thinking we have been prevented from much good, so we show gratitude to Allah for the blessings that others have received, as we are constantly thinking about the good that others have• O Allah every bless given at night to me or anyone of Your creatures, is given only by You - no partner with You -, so Praise and thanks be to You |
When a person ponders over this, they would realise that the simple fact that this supplication is coupled with a great reward, is another blessing that requires to be thanked for• In this supplication we also show gratitude for the blessings received by others.
